Ideale naturwahre Zeitereignisse

Walter Benjamin’s ‘Sylvestergeschichte’ interpreted through staged product shots drawn from the world of fungi and foods affected by microbes. The series is conceived to focus exclusively on materialities that tell the story of the coexistence of humans and microbes, of mould and decay, and of ‘live and let live’, and which bring these themes to life. As both material and model, the subjects tell their own stories, whilst at the same time playfully satirising our product-obsessed consumer society. The title ‘Ideale naturwahre Zeitereignisse’ refers to the institute founded by August Fuhrmann, the inventor of the ‘Kaiserpanorama’ mentioned in the story.​
